There are a few things that clearly define the perfect coastal lifestyle: a seaside cottage filled with comfortable Maine Cottage® furniture, lazy days with the ones you love and now… cruising in Maine Cottage® style. Just in time for the holiday season, Maine Cottage® Beach Cruisers are available in three colorful choices for you or a loved one to enjoy. The Maine Cottage® design team got rolling with the talented build crew at Villy Customs to create these limited edition bicycles that won’t be around for long! Our objective was simple; partner with a company that loves the coast as much as we do, and to create custom beach cruisers that are as solidly constructed and special as our furniture. Here’s a bit of insight into the process:

INSPIRATION  /  We were inspired by the bold colors and fun patterns of three of our best selling fabrics. These floral patterns make your indoors feel outdoors, so we thought, why not take them outside on the open road and really have fun!

INNOVATION  /  The Villy Custom team are the experts when it comes to building custom beach cruisers. We had a blast working with Fleetwood and Adelaida at Villy Customs. Aside from teaching us all about how to make a quality cruiser, they are just downright fun people who love their adorable puppies.

INTRODUCING  /  Our Limited Edition Maine Cottage® Beach Cruisers! Custom built and ready for you to ride. BLACK FRIDAY through CYBER MONDAY Beach Cruisers are FREE with purchases over $5,000*. Our $1,290 value makes a great holiday gift. Order by November 26, 2012 and you’ll have your bicycle before December, 25, 2012.

*Disclaimer: To redeem beach cruiser gift with purchase online at MaineCottage.com, retail order must be equal to or greater than $5,000. Gift with purchase can not be combined with other offers and is not valid on previous purchases. Offer is not valid through Maine Cottage® Dealer Stores and can not be applied to trade discounts. This offer has no cash value. Offer will be valid from 12:00AM on Friday, November 23, 2012 and will end at 11:59PM on Monday, November 26, 2012.

**Standard lead time on free beach cruiser is 3-4 weeks. Flat rate shipping of $100 applies for the free beach cruiser anywhere in the continental United States. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or elsewhere in the world will require a custom shipping quote.

We are all abuzz here at Maine Cottage®. Our flagship store will be moving to Annapolis, Maryland this fall! The new location at 209 West Street, also known as the Annapolis Livery, is a large historic brick building loaded with character. In the early 1900′s, 209 West was the location of the town stable where locals could board or rent horses, teams and wagons. Exposed brick, vaulted ceilings and over-sized windows are just a few of the architectural details that define the wide open space for the new furniture store in Annapolis.

Nearly 2,000 square feet of space on the first floor will host the Maine Cottage® retail store. There will be a color bar with a large interactive screen where customers can work with a Maine Cottage® Interior Design Associate on choosing their color and fabric selections. You can expect to see more vibrant colors, fun fabrics and uplifting furniture along with hand-picked home accessories from American potters, photographers and rug makers in the new location. There are also plans to feature local Maryland artists and to host events for local Annapolis and Washington, DC design professionals. The new retail destination store will feature signature Maine Cottage® colors and the coastal look the brand has become known for as the design foundation for the space. Merchandising will also draw inspiration from the local nautical market and add elements to the store that have a distinctly “Annapolitan” spirit.

Above the furniture store, the second floor will house the offices for our design and product development team. Warehouse, distribution and administrative offices will be located 10 miles away at 451 Defense Highway, also in Annapolis.

We’re excited to have the talented team at Hammond-Wilson Architects as new neighbors. They are also working closely with us to design and outfit the space with charming New England-style store fixtures. Together, we will create a space filled with cottage charm that transports visitors to their favorite coastal retreat. Stay tuned for updates.

Scheduled opening is November 2012.

Maine Cottage® greens are as fresh as the herbs in your garden, a midsummer meadow or a leafy forest canopy. They are all around us and we love them. An easy way to bring the soothing qualities of the outside in, greens encourage a peaceful sense of renewal.

For our greens, nature is our primary source of inspiration.
Wheatgrass was inspired by the feeling of walking barefoot on a freshly cut lawn.

Memories of our favorite gelato flavor inspired our color Pistachio, a cool and refreshing treat.

Lounging in a hammock with a refreshing rum cocktail of muddled mint leaves and sliced limes inspired our new color, Mojito.

With names like Pear, Sprout, Moss, Pickle and Celadon, think of filling a room with greens like planting a garden. One you can enjoy all year round.

THE COLLABORATION
Two well known artists in Annapolis came together to create a Limited Edition Series of Fine Art for homes where color lives. Lauren Russell, Creative Director at Maine Cottage® is highly regarded as the color and design visionary behind the brand. She creates memorable fabric patterns and furniture collections for discerning clients, architecture firms and design studios worldwide. Liz Lind has been spreading smiles across faces for two decades with her spirited works of art. Her studio in Eastport, Maryland has become a staple attraction for anyone who appreciates the uplifting psychological effects of her color and design sensibility.

THE ART
All Liz Lind for Maine Cottage® works are printed and signed in a limited edition of 100. Artist proofs, and in some cases originals, are also available. Liz personally inspects each print to ensure it meets her exacting standards.

Inspired by the Maine Cottage® color palette, the artwork combines watercolor, gouache and pencil among other mediums. Some paintings are traditional watercolors, others are assembled collages.

Original art is digitally captured with unparalleled color saturation and resolution. Using state of the art technology and specialty pigmented inks, each painting is painstakingly reproduced to ensure a visual match with the original. The result is a rich, dense color with astounding vibrancy and resolution. Aside from the process and ink, the final testament to the true archival quality giclées is in the paper, which is hand-molded in a 400+ year old German paper mill. The paper boasts the highest standard in maximum ink density and archival quality. All pricing shown here includes signed giclée with archival matte, conservation glass and Liz’s recommended frame.

ABOUT LIZ LIND
Liz’s vividly colorful and sometimes whimsical artistry is an expression of her summer memories and other joyful experiences growing up along the Maryland and Delaware beaches. Though classically trained, Liz defines her style as expressionistic, in that she is much more interested in what each individual feels upon seeing one of her paintings than in creating a perfect representation of its subject matter. Liz’s seascapes and Annapolis culture pieces certainly bring nostalgic smiles. Her brilliant, mind-bending watercolors have adorned some of Annapolis’ most impressive walls for more than 20 years along with her gallery studio in Eastport, MD. Liz’s approach is simple: combine a minimalistic technique with vivid colors to activate people’s fond memories and imaginations and to foster happiness.

ABOUT LAUREN RUSSELL
Lauren’s love for art started at 13 when she began to focus on black and white photography at St. George’s School in Newport, RI. She received numerous awards and accolades before moving on to study Fine Art as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University and then in Maryland at Salisbury State University and MICA. Aside from her aptitude for color and design, Lauren prides herself on her business acumen. In 2003, after a successful career in advertising, Lauren co-founded Russell & Mackenna furniture company. In the Spring of 2011 Russell & Mackenna purchased the Maine Cottage® furniture brand. As the Creative Director for the Maine Cottage® design team Lauren now spends her time-overseeing product design, development, marketing and strategic merchandising for the brand.

PUMPKIN RIDDLE
Lynn likes grapes but not potatoes.
She likes squash but not lettuce, and she likes peas but not onions.
Following the same pattern, will she like pumpkins or apples?
