Did you know: artichokes grow only along California, Chilean and Mediterranean coasts? And that they are giant thistle buds? Horticulturally, that struck us as a juicy bit of trivia. Anyway, an artichoke is best known as a garden fresh treat. Round and prickly, richly bright green leaves reveal its deeply sweet ripeness. Our friends at Stray Dog Designs created a striking Artichoke Lamp in this unique vegetable’s honor.

Like many things from Stray Dog Designs, the Artichoke Lamp was designed in the USA and is made using recycled materials by artisans in Haiti. A painted paper shade and sparkling glass finial give the lamp added artful appeal. Not to mention great color and fun! To appreciate the generous scale of these table lamps, we’ve included an image (below) from one of our stores. At 32″ high they have presence and personality, especially in a pair. And they look fantastic with colorful Maine Cottage furnishings.
